Wait.. huh-wah? 2011.. that's history.

I know what you're thinking  - if you had been a follower - 12 months isn't really a fortnight. Well, yes, true. Don't really have a good come back for that.

But hey, let's just have a look at some stuff I collected during 2011 and hope that 2012 is going to be a lot better with actual fortnightly updates :-)

Inception - JS Style

Inception — one of those movies that is cool, but doesn't make sense to you at the end.. it's quite enjoyable so you just go with the flow. Kind of like jQuery core .. it's awesome, but at a raw level gives you a brain freeze! We just enjoy the end product.

But some people doesn't get a brain freeze from hardcore JS, they interpret the movie using JS - rad!

By the way, if you have not seen the movie yet, skip to the next article.

inception JS

True nerds are artistic, this guy created a set of JavaScript closures to summarise the movie. Now that's a cool way to show how closures operate!

UPDATE : this article was written a while back - I know inception is not new anymore!

Real Inception

Talking about inception.. the US army wants to battle post traumatic stress disorder of its soldiers with technology and help them sleep. Details here.

This is what's on the public domain. What really goes on and what research is done ...
only time will tell (or not).

Punish the idiots who break the interwebs

You see something done wrong on the internet or you see someone using the internet wrong - possibly using the internet with the wrong tool.. you know that instant desire you get to punch them on the left nostril and smash their head on to the screen, tablet, phone or whatever .. well, calm down, there's an easier way that does not involve cops.

Naughty corner of web

This little beauty works best in Chrome - which is kind of ironic, if they are to open the link in Chrome, they are at least doing something right. Checkout http://welcometointernettimeout.com/ for more details.

If you can get away with it, bashing works well too.

Best physics presentation

While I love science and technology overall, I'm not that keen on sitting through a physics presentation - that is unless it involves magical ponies!! This guy created the best freaking presentation for physics, ever!

My Little Pony Physics

Guys at CERN can probably get cue from this and release the next particle physics presentation with more details on the Higgs Boson explained with ponies or teletubbies!

3D printing

3D printing is becoming normal and being made more affordable to the consumer market. It's not a new concept, but it has certainly gained a lot of average consumer oriented momentum.

This cool concept allows you to view a video of water flowing within a container and lets you select a frame that you can print out!

3D vase printing

There are other things that you can do with 3D printing too. It will be even better in the months/years to come. We are juts scraping the surface I think...

Let Google recap the year for you

We can rant on about what happened in 2011, but it would be hard to top the 'year in review' - in terms of search - website put together by Google.

google-zeitgeist

In it's true form of showcasing what's possible on browser, Google throws out a set of canvas based interactive animated charts for the nerd to wet their pants.

google-zeitgeist-1

It's awesome. The website. Not the content that was searched during 2011. Most of them are sad events. Starting with #1 rising search is Rebecca Black  - saddest of all.

Have a great fortnight folks. Enjoy the holidays!
