No. 3 Fortnightly Nerd News - special "Welcome back Ongi" issue
Monday, 9th June 2008
Hi Everyone,
I think I pushed the limits of the term "fortnight" but as you are all aware, we've all been (and still are) very busy. Thanks for the continues requests Ongi .. you pushed me to this.
Team Updates
A warm welcome to Daniel, our new Online Advertising Manager. Another member to our All Male Environment (sorry, I had to delete what I wrote within the brackets...)
Congratulations to Sasha for being the only one who answered the quiz time of FNN last issue.
He also became the full time assistant programmer for Visiontech.
( above two events have no relation to each other .. :P )
And if anyone missed this, Bojan is also known as "Brojan", "Bojam" and "Brojam". Plus he is the new "Honey" for -you know who- in Domain (I did not just made that up by the way, it was written on an email).
JavaScript
If anyone thinks they are into web development, they need to get in to JavaScript.
Think outside the box

Mac OS X - Tip of the fortnight
Switch between windows of the same application
Cmd + ~ (tilde) (the key above the TAB key)
Same can be used to reverse, when you do ⌘ + TAB and you don't want to go full circle.
Oil prices are on the rise...

YouTube
Created in early 2005
before turning 2 years old, the video sharing site valued 1.65 BILLION DOLLARS!
Bandwidth alone cost the site about a MILLION per DAY!!
In 2007 this site alone consumed as much as bandwidth of the entire internet in 2000!!!
Terminology Corner
Globalization
Princess Diana, an English princess with an Egyptian friend, crashes in a French tunnel driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, followed by Italian paparazzi on Japanese, treated by an American doctor with Brazilian medicine.
This email is written by a Sri Lankan, on a Mac designed in America, then assembled in China, couriered by a Pakistani.
This is plagiarized from a text message sent by an Indian from a phone smuggled by a Lebanese dude.
Now, that's Globalization.
Quiz time
When did Steve Jobs quit Apple in lieu of being fired?
Last issue's answer..
QUESTION
Name the Si-Fi Author and the scientist who passed away about a month ago, who wrote about
triangulating earth with geo-sync satellites to enable world-wide radio communication.
(today you can watch the 2008 olympic boycott drama thanks to this technology)
ANSWER
Sir Arthur C. Clerk, 1917 - 2008.
As mentioned earlier Sasha knew the Answer for this. Good on ya mate! Eat more MARS.
Thank you all for reading
Have a great fortnight!
