Hey folks ..
So, what else is happening outside the release of the iPhone 4 and iOS4 ... a LOT it seems. Things flow so quickly these days and you can't even stop to take a break and admire what happened. Well.. here's a few things to slow you down..
HTML5 - The new buzzword!
Well, I thought it was wrong to go from HTML4 to XHTML and come back to HTML5 .. what happened within W3C nerd central that dictates what web developers should be doing? Nonetheless, the HTML5 has been getting a lot of attention lately and the browser war seems to be warming up again with everyone trying to be the latest-standards-open-web-developer-friendly thing.
With all the hype around iPhone and iOS, Apple did not have much time to market the new release of Safari 5. But it came with a lot more under the hood in terms of speed and CSS3 + HTML5 compliance.

There is a demo page that outlines the practical applications of the new technologies available. You need to view the page in Safari though, Apple only opens the demos in Safari, even though there are other browsers that support some of these functionality.
Flash without Flash - Holy Smokescreen!!
Continuing on from the above HTML5 theme, we all know that Apple has an invested interest in HTML5 due to their mobile computing products and their quite public rejection of Flash. New standards in HTML and CSS brings in Flash like animations to the browser just using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
So, there's Flash and there's the new HTML5, CSS3 and JS mob. But wait ... now there's Smokescreen .. which will will convert your Flash SWFs to HTML5 and JavaScript so that they can run on the shiny new iPad (and anything else that supports the new standards).

As they say, it is Flash without the plug-in. It is still very early stages, but it is very promising and certainly very interesting bit of technology.
What do you Love, Hate, Feel and Believe..?
These days, we don't feel independently as much as we used to. Other people surrounding us make us feel things with their status updates, tweets and messages and many more .. you are what your friends are!
Twitter has an unprecedented following among from the people we idolise in different ways - actors, politicians, developers and a whole lot of garbage. There a few applications that tells your what everyone is feeling.
Yea, http://twistori.com/ is one of them ..
What's the mood of the world?
As outlined above, there are many apps that uses Twitter to and mash few things to tell what it is like. But, looking at Twitter to see what kind of a mood the world is currently on ... that has to be one of the coolest things ever.

Australia seemed a bit unhappy due to what happened to Kevin Rudd it seems.
There is no right way or wrong way to do it
Sorry, I'm not talking about the iPad. I'm actually talking about something Microsoft have done!!
I know, I can't believe it either .. every now and then, they actually do something cleaver. Checkout InstaLoad battery installation technology.

It is quite a nice approach and the device would work regardless of the battery configuration. This should be implemented for toys for the ease of kids and parents.
Understanding JavaScript - and pants explosion
This one is for the real nerds .. yes, the actual developers, more so for developers who are interested in JavaScript development. Paul Irish recently published a screencast covering 10 things he had learned from the jQuery source. If you are into JS, it is well worth watching this 54 minute video — probably should spend this time outside of office hours.
So, is this the pants explosion session – a guys talk for an hour about JS ..? No, even though it can be for some people, the following is much more jaw-dropping, specially looking at source or Firebug!
Seeing this in action was topped by seeing it nest .. oh wow!
Design inspiration of the fortnight
This is a new segment. This will be used a showcase a well designed, yet functional website.
We'll start with http://www.kaleidoscopeapp.com/
